International Conference on Appropriate Technology and Sustainability 2027
About ICATS 2027
Rapid industrialization, climate vulnerability, resource constraints, and socio‑economic disparities have created an urgent need for appropriate, sustainable, and context-responsive technologies in developing countries. Bangladesh, as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, faces the dual challenge of sustaining industrial growth while ensuring environmental protection, resilience, and equitable development.
The Institute of Appropriate Technology (IAT) at BUET has long been a national leader in promoting affordable, inclusive, and environmentally responsible engineering solutions. To accelerate this mission and strengthen global collaboration, IAT proposes to host the International Conference on Appropriate Technology and Sustainability 2027 (ICATS 2027).
